Who We Are

Sandy Acres Farm, located in Thunder Bay, is a third generation farm that has been in operation since 1958. Our primary focus is on beef but we also offer pork and vegetables in season. Our products are currently available online at sandyacresfarm.net, our farm store (RR#5, 4154 HWY 11-17), by phone (807-939-2742), or by email (info@sandyacresfarm.net). Beef orders can be picked up directly from the abattoir, the farm, the Thunder Bay Country Market or you can arrange to have them delivered directly to you.

Our Beef and Pork

We pride ourselves on our high quality beef that are born and raised on the farm. Our Limousin and Black Angus livestock are not exposed to growth hormones, antibiotics, or animal by-product feed. During summer months they graze on pasture land, during the winter months they are fed high quality hay and grain produced on the farm.
Our lean pork is given the same care that the cows receive, producing and the highest quality product possible.

Our standards are high because we believe in bringing quality to your plate. We're always changing and adding products so check our website regularly!! You might be surprised!

Mile Hill Farms provides top quality beef, pork, garden produce, and also value added products. We follow organic principles in all our farming projects. All practices on the farm are focused on being self-sufficient and maintaining living soil quality, animal happiness and health. Our farm is located near Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Brule Creek Farms in Northwestern Ontario's only flour mill. Not only do they mill grain, but they grow it too!

Starting in 2006 Boreal Birch Syrup is proudly produced in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Our business is owned and operated by Dave Challen and Beth Kuiper.

Birch syrup is a unique product, highly sought after in gourmet circles. The syrup has a bold flavour completely different from the more ubiquitous maple syrup.

Birch syrup can be produced across Canada in the Boreal forest.

Thunder Oak Cheese Farm is the only farm in Ontario that produces Gouda cheese.

This creamy Dutch cheese has long been a favourite of cheese lovers around the world. And the Schep Family has been making it in Thunder Bay since 1995.

Our award winning Thunder Oak Gouda is a natural product made with fresh milk from the Schep's own Holstein cows. There is no preservatives or added colouring in our cheese!

The Schep family invites you to visit our farm if you are in the neighbourhood. We make cheese on Monday and Friday around 10 AM. Have a cup of coffee and watch how we make cheese!

Our farm store offers Gouda in any quantity- large or small and in eight different flavours. We also have a wide variety of Dutch import products: from cookies, candy, spices and licorice to ceramics and tea towels.

Our gifts baskets are very popular and you can be sure you will brighten up somebody's day with one of those.
