This 'read me' is for people that wish to have content published on our site, if that is you please read on, if not then please visit our home page.
How do I Submit Content
If you have an event, story, experience or something else to share with the on-line community as a person, organization, public service, or even a business here are the current options:
- If Only Doing PSAs (Public Service Announcements)
- Have a public event for our calendar, no need to register, just email it to psa at nwontario.net and please include contact information of the person/organization running the event (please specify what contact info is to be published or not). The more details of the event the better - Title, Date, Time, Description, and if a web address for the event is available please include it.
- I Just Want To Advertise Something
- Yes we do take ads, just not directly on this site (see 'Want your ad here
' link just below the ad banner). You can post information about your business directly on this site, just don't make it an ad only, maybe include some interesting facts, history, or story on how the business came to be. Also if you register the same user name on the Outright Bargains site as on this site and become a member of this site (see blow), you get a FREE ad posting.
- One Time Deal
- You can email what you want added to the site: submit at nwontario.net (start the subject with: WIKI), please include a desired user name and password to register an account for the content. Note: User name becomes part of the URL of the content, so please use a short easy to read name that is relevant. Please keep the user name and password somewhere where you can use it again (so you can make changes/add to the content later). Also you can attach images to the email you want included. Content submitted by this method is manually processed and (even though we do our best) there is no guarantee that it will be posted in a timely fashion.
- Active User/Member
- you register on the site (if you have not already done so), and you can start to Create/Edit your User Page, however your creation will be placed in queue (to await administrator approval) to avoid this delay you can become a full member.
Being a full member allows you full access to creating and editing your own content on the site (including the event calendar) without approval delays. To become a full member call 768-2227 and request FULL membership over the phone or contact the admin with the request to be a full member. Please include your name and phone number so the administrator can call you (all membership verification is done via phone). This extra step in the "Member" registration process is ONLY to help protect the integrity of the site and its content. The major advantage to this is that you have control of when and how your content is presented on the site.

- The administrator is looking for volunteer site operators/moderators. I would like to have one operator/moderator for each community/category within this site (ex: someone from Dryden could operate the Dryden part of the site). The responsibility of this position is to maintain the content (the event calendar, Wiki, Blog, Forum, photo albums, etc.), to help/assist the other users when needed, and be an advocate of the community/category site your assigned to. If interested, Please contact the administrator for further information.
