Welcome to 2nd R
Computer and Electronic Thunder Bay

What is the 2nd R?

The Three R's of the Environment - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The 'Second R' is all about encouraging the reuse of any stuff instead of throwing it out or the last option recycling it. If it is still usable maybe not to yourself however to someone else, then by all means DON'T THROW IT AWAY! Find someone that would want it. If you don't know how to find that someone to take that reusable item off your hands, use your favourite web search (ex: Google, Bing, Yahoo) and search for Freecycle.

Don't get ahead of yourself ... Re-Use Before Recycle

This site is focusing on reusing computer equipment and small electronic stuff that is located in the Thunder Bay area. If the item in question is considered computer equipment or small electronic item then please contact Wayne Schulz (807) 768-2227 and leave a message to arrange FREE pick-up or to drop-off. He refurbishes computer equipment for computer labs (computer systems for public internet access) and/or people that need a computer but can't afford a new system.

(coming soon, post a pick-up and what's available list)

Yes there is a company in Thunder Bay that recycles Computer and Electronic stuff (The Third R), however that takes extra resources and energy to process the stuff into reusable raw materials and it removes accessibility to those that could make good use of the equipment. So please consider the 2nd R first.

BTW: Even if the system is not working, the parts may be used to build or fix another system. If it turns out that the equipment or accessories are truly unusable then there's always the 3rd R - Recycle. Non-reusable computer equipment or small electronic items picked-up or brought to us will go to a recycling facility for proper disposal.
